  In the fall of 2016, I, along with my husband, came to Korea, a foreign country that I knew little about. I felt uneasy about that. The moment the plane landed, my heart sank as well. I thought: Am I really going to leave everything I’m familiar with and start a new life here? Looking at those strange streets, unfamiliar faces and hearing the foreign language, loneliness filled my heart. I felt like a lost child who left his mother and couldn’t find the way home.

My mother is a devout Christian. Ever since I was old enough to understand things, she would often tell me stories about the Lord Jesus, telling me that the Lord Jesus is the only true God. When I was 13 years old I went with my mom to church. At that time I really enjoyed listening to the pastors’ sermons, and I had a great deal of faith. I would actively participate in every fellowship. But I gradually discovered that there was no illumination in the sermons preached by the pastors. They always repeated some theories and knowledge of the Bible or some theological theories, and as time went on I didn’t receive the least bit of pleasure from listening to their sermons, nor did I feel I was being provided with life. Therefore, I started going to fellowships less and less frequently.

    Ou Yang was a cashier at a hamburger restaurant. On a Sunday morning, the restaurant was crowded with people and the business was especially good. Ou Yang not only had to attend to the guests and take their orders, but also was responsible for giving the orders to the kitchen, serving the food and collecting money. As Ou Yang was extremely busy with her work, she heard someone calling her name; she looked up, and saw her aunt and her aunt’s 4-year-old granddaughter. Ou Yang hurried to tell her aunt to find a seat and ordered a hamburger and a drink for her aunt’s granddaughter; having no time for her aunt, she immediately went back to work. Later, the guests in the restaurant became more and more. Seeing that Ou Yang was really busy, her aunt said goodbye to her. Taking leave of her aunt, Ou Yang continued with her work.

    When getting my doctorate in 2003, I alone went overseas, and was engaged in scientific research as a visiting scholar for a university. Afterward, I accepted the Lord Jesus in local Chinese church. I was immersed in the love of the Lord, like a kid who had wandered for years finally returned to his mother’s embrace. From then on, I hungrily read the Bible and evangelical materials, watched evangelical movies, listened to sorts of recordings of preaching, and actively participated in all kinds of church activities, such as attending the meetings, Bible study groups, and prayer meetings, handing out evangelical leaflets, and so on. I eagerly sent my wife the news that I had faith in the Lord, believing that she would be happy as we finally share the same belief. Those years, she had always preached the gospel of the Lord to me, while I had never taken it seriously, so we often ended up parting on bad terms. As expected, she was extremely pleased after knowing my faith in the Lord, and said she wanted to see me as soon as possible and listen to my testimonies.

July 21, 2012 was a most unforgettable day for me, as well as the most important day of my life.

That day, a heavy rain was falling in Fangshan District in Beijing—the heaviest we had seen there in sixty-one years. A little after 4:00 p.m., I walked out onto the street to have a look and saw that water was everywhere. Our family car was already afloat, and the only reason it had not been carried away by the current yet was that something in front of it was blocking it from moving. The sight made me quite anxious, so I quickly called my husband, who is also a believer, but could not get through no matter how many times I tried. Then, rather than seek God’s will, I instead hurried home to call out for him.

I Rejoice to Be Reunited With the Lord

I’m 78 this year and I have always suffered from headaches and diabetes. After I began to believe in the Lord in 2005, the illnesses that had beset me for years were eased; I perceived God’s love and thanked the Lord from the bottom of my heart. Two years later, a relative preached God’s work of the last days to me and he said that the Lord Jesus had returned as the incarnated Almighty God. He said that Almighty God was now performing a newer, higher stage of work on the foundation of the Lord Jesus’ work of redemption, and that Almighty God was using the truth to judge and chastise man, to cleanse our corruption, and God would lead those who ultimately attained salvation into His kingdom. I was thrilled to hear this news, and I thought to myself, “I never imagined that I would actually be able to welcome the Lord in my lifetime. If in the future I could be led by God into His kingdom, that would be wonderful indeed!” Thinking this, my heart became filled with a joy I couldn’t express, and I thanked God’s love and salvation. After a period of seeking and investigating, I became certain from reading God’s words that Almighty God was indeed the Lord Jesus returned, and very soon after I was living the church life and doing all I could to perform my duty within the church.

    In 1991, by the grace of God, I began to follow Almighty God because of an illness. At that time I didn’t know anything about believing in God, but the interesting thing is that, when eating and drinking of the words expressed by Almighty God, I enjoyed it. I felt that His words were so good, and when I sang or prayed I was frequently moved by the Holy Spirit to the point of weeping. That sweetness in my heart, that enjoyment was as if a joyous event had come upon me. Particularly in get-togethers during the great work of the Holy Spirit, I felt as if I had transcended the flesh and I was living in the third heaven, that everything belonging to the world had been cast to the winds. I can’t say how joyful, how happy I was in my heart. I felt that I was the happiest person in the world. So at that time I believed that believing in God was just enjoying His grace.
