At the international conference on Religious Persecution and the Human Rights of Refugees in Seoul, South Korea on October 23, 2017, Professor Massimo Introvigne made a detailed analysis of the inaccuracies in the Chinese Communist government's definition of a "cult." He also clearly stated that The Church of Almighty God has been the religious group most seriously persecuted by the Chinese Communist government, leading to the incarceration and sentencing of hundreds of thousands of their followers who have committed no crimes. They have only been incarcerated and sentenced because of their affiliation with The Church of Almighty God.
